That Sunday Feeling by Brooks & King
Originally commissioned and produced by A Play, A Pie and A Pint as “Wee Free – the Musical” (https://kenalexander.co.uk/wp-admin/post.php?post=1321&action=edit) this musical comedy drama was subsequently developed into a full-length piece by the creators (Hilary Brooks and Clive King) with funding from Creative Scotland that also supported a live workshop. Set in the 1980s and drawing on true life experiences, this story follows an idealistic young Glaswegian music teacher who seeks an escape from the city to build a new life on a remote Scottish island. Her expectations of an idyllic island life are soon challenged when her hopes and ambitions crash head on with the island’s fundamentalist religious community. 5 actor/musicians and 3 musicians (including Musical Director).
We are currently looking for a Producer to help us take this project forward. A full recording of the workshop production, filmed at the Tron Theatre Glasgow, is available on request.
